Requests for official Otero County criminal records must go to the public office that maintains the document. The routes below distinguish court files, statewide histories, police reports, and local booking material. This privately operated resource cannot retrieve, change, or certify a government record.

This Is Not a Government Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot pull criminal records, run official background checks, remove or correct a record, or accept expungement filings for anyone. For any of those, you need to reach the right government office directly.

Need an Official Record?

Use the following custodians for commonly requested Otero County records:

  • Court case files: use the Otero Combined Court Record/Document Request process or review the court case lookup guide
  • Criminal histories: contact the Colorado Bureau of Investigation Biometric Identification and Records Unit
  • Arrest, booking, and jail records: begin with the Otero County directory and switchboard because no stable sheriff records-desk page was verified
  • Name-based state checks: use the Colorado Bureau of Investigation Internet Criminal History Check System
  • Police reports and incident records: contact the agency that wrote the report
  • Record sealing: use Colorado Judicial Branch forms and file through the court that handled the case

For court records, contact Otero Combined Court, 13 West Third Street, Room 207, La Junta, CO 81050, at 719-384-4951, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The records email is OteroRecordsRequest@judicial.state.co.us. For sheriff or jail material, call the Otero County switchboard at 719-383-3000 to confirm the current records counter and procedure before traveling.
